"The best teachers are those who tell you where to look but don't tell you what to see."

HOMEWORK

Please work with your child to complete their homework each night. We spend time in class on each assignment prior to them bringing it home. If you find that your child has a large amount of homework, have a discussion with them about what they are doing during their work time in class. If your child has any trouble with their homework, please feel free to send the homework back with a note/email explaining the difficulties they are having and I will be more than happy to work with them here. Thank you for all of your support!

Engage NY Reading Unit

We are currently in a poetry unit for reading. We are reading Love That Dog, A River of Words a selected biographies of famous authors. During reading, we are really focusing on pulling evidence from our reading to support answers. We are also writing our own poetry and an essay about how a particular author inspires us to do our own writing.

Engage NY Math

Module 3 focuses multiplication and division. We will focus on different strategies to develop our skills in those areas. We will also be focusing on using these skills to solve multi-step word problems. The idea behind the different strategies is that they can find a strategy that is most sucessful for them.
